Upright
The right amount, arrived at slowly. She's pouring between two cups and not spilling, which is the least dramatic image in the deck and one of the hardest things to actually do. This is the card of the middle path that isn't a compromise — the thing you get by combining rather than choosing. It takes longer. It's better.
Reversed
Excess in either direction, or impatience with a process that genuinely cannot be hurried. Sometimes it's the false middle: splitting the difference to avoid a conversation.
Its correspondence
Sagittarius — the long view, the arrow with somewhere to be. Sagittarius is the sign that can hold a direction across years, and this card needs exactly that: the patience to keep pouring when nothing appears to be happening yet.
How it's usually misread
It isn't moderation as blandness. It's precision. There is a correct amount, and she's finding it.
Knowing the card isn't reading it
Every entry on this site is free, and always will be — meanings are the easy half. The hard half is what a card does in a position, next to another card, for a real question. Learn to Read is the lessons for that, plus a practice partner that critiques your interpretations — $111, once.
Or read this card in your hand: the deck is all 78 drawn the way you see it above.
